Aloha and Welcome to
Waikiki Shore Beach Condominiums...
This mid-century icon is the only condominium property located directly on the sand in Waikiki. It is a 15 story, 169 unit building that caters to resident owners, along with long and short term renters. Rooms are rented through 12+ different property managers. Castle Resorts operates the front desk on site to help their guests while most other agents meet their guests in the relaxing lobby.
Waikiki Shore was originally finished in 1962. In December of 2023, a major refresh of the lobby was completed which opened a solid concrete wall to breathtaking views of Ft. Derussy and Waikiki Beach. This incredible transformation was possible thanks to the Owners, the Board, Building Manager Randy Ahlo, Wilhelm Group's Lance Wilhelm, Architect Wayne Goo, JMK Engineers, Elliott Construction Group, Sam Kivett Design and many others that worked behind the scene. We are so grateful for their vision and tremendous efforts.
Please enjoy the newly renovated lobby as you return home or check in as a guest.
BREAKING NEWS!
TSUNAMI Warning. During the July 30, 2025 tsunami warning, the AOAO staff at Waikiki Shore responded swiftly and effectively. The state’s warning system performed well, providing timely alerts via text and email. Within 30 minutes of the initial warning, staff printed and distributed notices to owners and guests.
Onsite team members took immediate action. They informed residents, emailed warnings to owners and rental agents, knocked on doors of lower-floor units advising evacuation to higher floors, and strategically placed sandbags to protect critical infrastructure. Elevators were locked at the top floor, and guests were advised to download a local news app. Though the garage door wasn’t sandbagged to allow vehicle movement, sump pumps remained on. The tsunami warning was downgraded to an advisory around 10:30 p.m., after which staff restored elevator service, removed warning notices, and informed guests it was safe to return. Staff members stayed until the situation was resolved, and transportation was provided home for some employees after midnight.
Fortunately, there was no loss of life or significant property damage on the islands. However, there were severe traffic grid-lock issues that will need to be addressed.
On behalf of all the Owners, the AOAO Board extends its sincere gratitude and appreciation to the entire staff for their outstanding “whatever it takes” efforts during this emergency event. We would especially like to recognize Jeanmarie, Hazel, Kesi, John, Jeffrey, and Mo for their exemplary actions. Mahalo nui loa.
Steak Shack Reopens. On May 2, 2025, Waikiki Shore was filled with aloha as the community gathered to celebrate the Grand Opening of Pepe’s new Steak Shack. The event commenced with a traditional Hawaiian blessing led by Kahu Kordell Kekoa, a respected spiritual leader known for his heartfelt ceremonies. Kahu Kekoa’s warm humor and uplifting words fostered a sense of unity, emphasizing the importance of community support in Pepe’s journey. The celebration continued with a vibrant lion dance performance, captivating attendees and symbolizing prosperity and good fortune for the new establishment. Guests, including fellow shop owners, staff, representatives from Outrigger and Castle, and unit owners, shared in the joyous occasion, reflecting the strong sense of community at Waikiki Shore.
As the aroma of sizzling steaks filled the air, anticipation grew for the next item in the future: Pepe’s upcoming shave ice shop, promising another delightful addition to the neighborhood. The event not only marked the beginning of a new culinary venture but also highlighted the enduring spirit of 'ohana that defines Waikiki Shore.
